甲午秋于广西十万大山金珂玄雷上师与金珂佛子共绘

龙树菩萨（Nāgārjuna bodhisattva），他开创缘起性空的中观学说，肇大乘佛教思想之先河。作品描绘了龙树为度化南天竺国王，应征为将，不吃皇粮不拿俸禄，默默帮助国王整肃军队七年时间，卓有成效。国王召而问之：你究竟是何人？龙树回答：我是一切智人！国王问：现在天在干什么？龙树答言：天正与阿修罗打仗！并示现神通力，打开国王、臣民与婆罗门的天眼，让他们看到天与阿修罗厮杀的场景。国王得知眼前的人乃是圣者，于是虔诚皈依龙树菩萨，举国受到正法教化。

Nāgārjuna, the founder of the Madhyamaka school, established the core tenets of Mahāyāna Buddhist philosophy with his profound teachings on dependent origination and emptiness. His groundbreaking insights laid the foundation for Mahāyāna Buddhism to thrive as a transformative spiritual tradition.

This artwork captures an inspiring episode from Nāgārjuna’s life, showcasing his unwavering compassion and wisdom. The painting portrays his role in guiding a Southern Indian king who was struggling to govern effectively. Nāgārjuna volunteered to serve as a general. Remarkably, he declined royal provisions and wages, dedicating seven years to restructuring and strengthening the military with selfless devotion and discipline.

The king eventually summoned Nāgārjuna and asked, “Who are you?” Nāgārjuna humbly replied, “I am one who knows it all.” The king pressed further, “What is happening in the sky right now?” Nāgārjuna answered, “The celestial beings are engaged in battle with the Asuras.” Demonstrating his miraculous powers, Nāgārjuna opened the spiritual eyes of the king, his ministers, and the religious leaders, enabling them to witness the fierce celestial battle in real-time.

Awestruck by this divine revelation, the king recognized Nāgārjuna as a holy being and sincerely took refuge in the Dharma. Under Nāgārjuna’s guidance, the entire kingdom embraced the teachings of Buddhism. The realm flourished as a haven of moral virtue and spiritual wisdom, embodying the transformative power of the Dharma.
