Sacred Mandala of the Vajra Dragon and Elephant
Creator: Vajra Master Jinke Xuanlei

Description
The Sacred Mandala of the Vajra Dragon and Elephant, created by Vajra Master Jinke Xuanlei, is a masterpiece of Buddhist art that encapsulates profound symbolic and spiritual meanings. This mandala represents the integration of the Diamond Realm and Womb Realm Mandalas, symbolizing the unity of wisdom and compassion, form and emptiness, and the interconnectedness of all beings.
At the top lies the Diamond Realm mandala, where the “Eastern Sun Dragon” represents the indomitable force of enlightenment. Its thunderous might destroys demonic forces, while its rain of Dharma nectar purifies ignorance and mental afflictions. This act symbolizes the renewal of the world, the turning of the Dharma Wheel, and the uplifting of sentient beings. The dragon’s presence brings prosperity, harmony, and progress, safeguarding the destiny of nations and guiding them toward a brighter future.
At the center is the Womb Realm Mandala composed of the “Great Divine Elephant,” holding sacred implements, each symbolizing distinct spiritual virtues:
• Vajra Wheel: Represents reverence and harmony, fostering mutual respect among leaders, citizens, and communities, while upholding the Dharma.
• Vajra Axe and Vajra Scepter: Symbolize subjugation, breaking obstacles, eradicating evil, and restoring righteousness, fostering unity and overcoming adversaries.
• Vajra Bell: Denotes increase, enhancing wisdom, merit, and well-being, ensuring prosperity and peace for individuals and nations alike.
• Vajra Bow and Arrow: Represent pacification, dissolving calamities ranging from environmental disruptions to personal suffering, restoring balance and peace.
• Vajra Lasso: Embodies compassion, drawing sentient beings into the embrace of enlightenment with the force of loving-kindness, fostering mutual benefit and liberation.
At the bottom of the mandala resides the “Great Garuda,” symbolizing the Vajra Bodhi mind, which conquers harmful tendencies and negative thoughts. Its blessings eliminate disasters, keep plagues at bay, and bring auspicious health and safety to all beings. Surrounding it, the “Golden Serpents” intertwine, representing diligent spiritual practice and ultimate transformation. Through disciplined effort, the serpents ascend to become the radiant sun dragon, signifying the triumph of righteousness and the removal of obstacles.
This seamless fusion reflects the harmony between the dragon and elephant, embodying the interconnectedness of all beings—“you are within me, and I am within you.” This represents the ultimate realization of the Dharma body as non-dual, indivisible, and universal.
